The Amherst Hurricane Boosters
We will work with the school administration to deal with the challenges presented by budget cuts so we are informed and able to take action where needed to insure the programs sustainability.
We will also increase the marketing efforts made to the town at large, thus increasing community awareness and bringing in revenue. This year we have promotions in place for various games including half time musical events that showcase our high school students.
We will also work with the school administration and coaches to increase the marketing effort made for greater participation. This will be done via school demonstrations of the various sports, website descriptions and outreach to the areas elementary schools. Increased participation translates to increased revenue as well as the more important goal of providing a positive and healthy after school experience for more kids.
We will work with coaches through workshops and literature to insure a positive experience for the students. The emphasis on the workshops will be teaching values, teaching compassion, having fun and keeping the double goal of competition and good values/sportsmanship in perspective.
We will continue to purchase equipment where needed, like the badly needed renovation of the high school weight room, that helps students achieve their athletic goals in a safe and updated way.
The Amherst Monte Carlo Night is an important fundraising effort that wouldn't be possible without the generous support of area businesses and individuals.
