Some really excellent questions about our Monte Carlo Night...

I thought the 2012 Monte Carlo Night was on March 10?
That was the initial plan but a programing conflict caused us to change the date to March 17. So now you can "Wear the Green" to Monte carlo Night!!

Is it true that “whatever happens at Monte Carlo Night stays at Monte Carlo Night”?
Are you kidding?! Monte Carlo Night is a FUN night with your friends and neighbors – how're you going to keep THAT quiet!!

Can I send a check rather than pay online?
Yes – write a check ($25 per ticket) to Hurricane Boosters and mail it to Roy Johnson, Jones Group Realtors, 200 Triangle Street, Amherst MA 01002. Don't forget to nominate a sport on the check memo!

Can’t I just make a donation? (I’m not really the gambling type.)
Of course you can – just order a ticket (or tickets). Each ticket is, in effect, a $25 donation. Monte Carlo Night tickets make a great gift to someone you might know who would like to come. Also, there’s plenty of  complimentary food, good music and dancing with friends to enjoy if don’t want to gamble. And if you change your mind we’d love to see you on March 17. Oh, and don’t forget to tell us to which sport $20 of the ticket price should be directed to.

How does it work?
Your admission price includes food (provided by more than 30 local restaurants; music (by Four on the Floor, and local Jazz musicians); wine tastings PLUS a chance to win one of 3 Grand Prizes!! On the evening your can buy Monte Carlo Night Funny Money – US$10 buys FM$1,000 which can be used for bar purchases and at the gaming tables.

Is this LEGAL?
Yup. You are NOT actually gambling because your are betting with Funny Money dollars (not real dollars).

Where does the money go?
You can direct $20 of your admission price to a particular school sport by wriiting the name of the sport. The rest of the ticket price and the income on the night goes to the Booster Club’s general account to be distrubuted to individual sports as needed.

Why should I support the Athletic program? What about supporting music and art?
Involvement in sports programs, art clubs, music clubs, newspaper or yearbook groups, etc., are all positive learning activities from which our kids can also develop important social skills, bases for friendships and areas of focus and direction. Sport has the added benefit of developing physical well being and all of the positives that are related to physical activity. Perhaps most important, such involvement may prevent idleness after school, and all the negative possibilities that can evolve from  idle time. Finally, one great thing about sports in Amherst is that there truly are options and great team support for every child, regardless of ability, on many of the teams (cross country, swimming, track etc to name a few).

Do I have to dress formally?
Absolutely not – but a lot of folks consider dressing up as part of the fun.
