Amherst Hurricane Boosters
The Amherst Hurricane Boosters are a local, independent group of parents, coaches and other supporters of High School sports in Amherst. We raise funds to help achieve our mission of having a positive impact on athletics at Amherst High School. Specifically, we have defined the following four goals as core to our mission:
- To insure the continued existence of sports programs
- To promote school athletics by increasing participation
- To insure a positive experience for participants
- To help promote achievement in sports
Our two large annual fundraisers are Monte Carlo Night Saturday, March 16th 2013 at Valentine Hall at Amherst College and The Hurricane Open Golf Tournament Sunday, August 25th 2013. The boosters meet on a regular basis to plan for the fundraisers as well enact other plans to achieve our goals.
We are always looking for new members to get involved and help out. We have a number of ongoing projects, including game promotions, coach’s workshops, sponsor solicitation etc.
